EDITION #1 ‘IN GOEDE AARDE VALLEN’ (TO FALL ON GOOD SOIL)

The first edition is focused around the expression ‘in goede aarde vallen’ that literally means : ‘to fall on good soil’ and is used when something is well-received.

“The expression in goede aarde vallen [lit. to fall on good soil] propels us into the future.

It means: to hope something will be well-received.

But there’s only space for hope when there is uncertainty. This is where tension arises.

While plenty of people proclaim they want something to fall on good soil, it is rare to hear someone say it did.

In fact, things invariably fall on bad soil. Policies, plans, comments all have not fallen on good soil [zijn niet in goede aarde gevallen].

This is how it goes. What does this teach us about life?”
